New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa organized a medical outreach event for residents of six towns in the constituency.
The beneficiary constituencies include Asankragua, Samreboi, Nkwanta Kesse, Mumuni, Ayensu Krom, and Wassa Dunkwa.
The outreach program is a key part of Mr. Afrifa’s broader engagement with people in his constituency to provide quality health care to underserved communities.
A team of volunteer medical professionals from the International Maritime Hospital and the University of Ghana Medical Center have joined forces to provide beneficiaries with a wide range of services, from general health check-ups and screenings to specialized consultations.
The team travels from town to town, providing healthcare services while also facilitating residents’ enrollment in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
community involvement
The outreach provided Mr Afrifa with a platform to directly engage with the people of his constituency.
Agya Mensah Appiah, a 70-year-old farmer from Samreboi, said: “I am grateful for the free screening. I have been given medicines and advice that will help me control the condition before it worsens.
Another beneficiary, Comfort Yaa Darko, a 63-year-old petty trader from Asankragua, also received relief from the programme.
Mr Afrifa said the personal involvement and direct contact with residents fostered a deep sense of trust and connection.
“The health and well-being of the people of Wassa Amenfi is my top priority. It is vital to the development of our community and is a core part of my vision for the future if I am elected as your Member of Parliament,” Mr. Afrifa affirmed.
