Ahead of the 2024 elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised the issue of discrepancies in the provisional voter register displayed at the ongoing voter register exhibition exercise, hence calling for an urgent meeting with the Electoral Commission to address their concerns.
A letter signed by NDC Secretary General Fifi Kwetey and addressed to the Electoral Commission on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, said the NDC had found “serious discrepancies” in the provisional voter register.
The NDC has therefore called for an “urgent” meeting with the EC to address these issues before the voter exhibition exercise ends today.
The national voter exhibition exercise began on August 20 and is scheduled to end today, August 27.
“We write to request an important urgent meeting with you and your team to discuss the very serious discrepancies that have been discovered during the ongoing 2024 Voter Exhibition exercise. These discrepancies arise from the analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) provided to us by the Commission and the register on display at the Center.
“We look forward to a positive and timely response as we work towards a free, fair, and transparent election,” the letter said.
