Japan discovered black particles in the Moderna vaccine.

Japan has put a batch of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine on hold after a foreign substance was discovered in a vial.
Authorities report that a pharmacist in Kanagawa Prefecture discovered numerous black particles in one bottle of the vaccination.
The batch had previously been administered to approximately 3,790 persons. The remainder of the batch has now been put on hold.
This comes less than a week after Japan halted the use of around 1.63 million Moderna dosages owing to contamination.
The pharmacist discovered the black particles while checking for foreign substances before administering the immunization.
The jab’s domestic distributor has collected the vial that is suspected of contamination.
According to local media sources, there is currently no proof of any health dangers caused by the potentially contaminated vaccine.
Takeda Pharmaceutical, which sells and distributes the vaccine in Japan, placed three batches of the vaccine on hold last week after “foreign materials” were discovered in some doses of a batch of approximately 560,000 vials.
Rovi, the Spanish pharmaceutical company that bottles the vaccine, stated in a statement that a manufacturing line in Spain could be the source of the problem.
It also stated that it was conducting an investigation.
On Tuesday, Japan’s health minister stated that foreign substances discovered in jabs in the southern prefecture of Okinawa were caused by needles being placed wrongly into vials.
Japan is experiencing an increase in COVID cases as it hosts the Paralympic Games.
Its vaccination roll-out has been very gradual, with little more than 40% of Japanese individuals fully immunized and roughly 50% receiving one dose.
