Alan Kyeremateng, leader and founder of the Movement for Change, said that under his leadership, a future government would recruit teachers in Arab schools (Makaranta) in line with the government salary plan.
Speaking at the launch of Zumunta, the Zongo arm of the movement for change, Alan Kyeremateng criticized the NDC and NPP for failing to develop the Zongo community despite receiving strong support from them.
He was ushered into Darkoman in Ablekuma North constituency amid a large crowd of supporters.
He met with sheikhs and imams as well as local residents in the constituency to drum up support ahead of the December 7 vote.
Voters in attendance expressed strong support for Allen’s campaign and claimed to be fed up with the duopoly of the NDC and NPP.
Leaders of political parties and movements aligned with the Movement for Change took turns calling on voters to support Allen to realize his vision for Ghana.
Former Chairman of the People’s National Congress (PNC) in Greater Accra, Bala Salifu Maikankan, now the Zongo Community Coordinator of Movement for Change, has told potential voters to ignore the promises of the two major political parties because they have not used this opportunity to make an impact on the lives of Ghanaians by giving them.
Akwasi Addei Odike said a vote for Dr. Bawumia was a vote for the likes of President Akufo-Addo and Gabi Asare Ochere Darko, and therefore Ghanaians must vote them out.
Alan Kyeremateng said his government, if elected, would implement interventions that would benefit all Zongo residents.
He said the key to the intervention was to integrate Arab school teachers into the Ghana Education Service and pay them for their services.
He expressed disappointment that the country’s two main political parties, the NDC and the NPP, had failed to improve the lot of the Zongo community despite receiving significant votes from those areas.
He also noted that under his leadership, the Hajj Committee will no longer be composed of political appointees.
“We will include the chiefs of the Zongo community on the Hajj Board so that they can protect the interests of the Zongo people. I don’t understand why the board is always made up of political appointees.
