France manager Deschamps will go down after the 2026 World Cup.

Didier Deschamps, France’s World Cup-winning manager, has announced his resignation following next year’s tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
France’s longest-serving coach, at 56 years old, has been in charge since 2012.
He led Les Bleus to victory in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as well as to the finals of the 2022 tournament in Qatar and the 2016 Euros at home.
“By 2026, it will be over. “In my head, it’s very clear,” Deschamps told French television station TF1.
“I’ve served my term with the same drive and enthusiasm to keep France at the top level.
“One must be able to say, ‘Stop! There is life after this.'” The most essential thing is for France to remain at the top, as they have for many years.
France is yet to begin its 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, with their group determined by the outcome of their Nations League quarterfinal against Croatia in March.
Former midfielder Deschamps is only the third person, after Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer, to win the World Cup as both a player and manager, having led his team to victory in 1998.
After France’s quarter-final exit at Euro 2012, he succeeded Laurent Blanc and earned qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where Les Bleus were defeated by eventual champions Germany in the round of eight.
In 2016, he led the squad to the final of their home European Championship, although they were defeated by Portugal in extra time.
His finest moment came two years later, when France won the World Cup for the second time with a 4-2 victory over Croatia in Moscow.
In 2021, they won the Nations League before returning to the World Cup final in Qatar, where they were defeated on penalties by Argentina after a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Deschamps formerly led Monaco, Juventus, and Marseille, winning at least one trophy each.
Prior to that, he had a successful playing career both domestically and internationally.
He won 14 major awards, including Champions League titles with Marseille and Juventus and the FA Cup with Chelsea.
The defensive midfielder also has 103 caps for France, leading the side to victories in the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
