Ghanaian music star Black Sherrif has etched his name in the annals of music history by becoming the first Ghanaian artiste to cross 500 million streams on major digital music platform Boomplay.
Boomplay announced the historic achievement in a post on Streaming media records.
Commenting on the development, Black Sherif expressed his gratitude for their unwavering support, saying: “This is a dream come true. I am so grateful for the love and support from my fans in Ghana and around the world. This is just the beginning and I can’t wait to work with them Everyone shares more music,” he said.
Black Sherif, born Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, first came to prominence in 2021 with his breakthrough single “First Sermon”.
His follow-up song “Second Sermon” cemented his status as one of Ghana’s most promising talents.
Kilos Milos’ hitmaker’s meteoric rise to fame has been marked by a string of successful releases, each seemingly more popular than the last.
He cemented his status by winning the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year award and is currently the reigning 3-time Music Awards Artiste of the Year award.
In addition, he also won the “Best International Stream” award at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, becoming the second African artist after Sarkodie to win this award.
